After a hectic triple header to start off the season, the F1 circus has taken a short hiatus before the action resumes at Silverstone, soon enough. Like all other races this season, the British Grand Prix will also be a spectator-less race.
Nevertheless, the police and track authorities at Silverstone have issued warnings to F1 fans, prohibiting them from coming to the circuit to catch some live F1 action.
Moreover, Lewis Hamilton is doing his part, urging the fans to remain at home.

Speaking to Autosport, Hamilton said, “It’s not my job to come up with rules and tell people what to do. What I see on TV is people out trying to live their lives during this difficult time, but this thing continues to spread.
“So, I always just try to encourage people to keep their distance and remain at home. And us holding an event which we’re really trying to remain (focused) and always keep our distances from everyone whilst we’re doing our job.
“I can understand people will want to go and watch from a distance, just to get the sound of the car or to get a sneak peek of the car. But if that means that you’re in a crowd of other people, that’s definitely not a good thing, and I wouldn’t advise that.”
Homecoming of Lewis Hamilton could be jeopardized if fans come to watch the race
With a double-header set to take place at Silverstone, the track authorities don’t want the event to be canceled due to the negligence of the fans.

According to Autosport, Silverstone boss, Stuart Pringle said, “The government requirement is that you can run this event if people are not present.
“These sporting events should not be a magnet to bring people to their locality and increase the risk of transmission of this virus. We’re just getting the message out there so that everybody knows that you are serious.”
Hamilton will return to his home-track in first place on the Drivers Championship standings. He currently stands 5 points clear of teammate Valtteri Bottas.
