Lando Norris has quickly established himself as one of the most likeable characters on the grid. The McLaren man has managed to combine his fun loving and cheerful personality with honesty and a down to Earth nature. As such, when asked if he would beat Lewis Hamilton were the both of them driving in same machinery, he gave an honest answer.
Norris said (translated by Google), “I can’t answer that until the time comes. But I’m sure everyone on the grid wants the same thing.

FIA’s aerodynamic regulation changes for 2022 claims that it could reduce the disparity between the teams. Thus drivers would be able to compete on a more equal platform.
However, nothing is guaranteed. And this shouldn’t take away anything from Hamilton, who has been simply phenomenal for the better part of this decade. Norris alludes to this too.
He added, “Everyone knows Lewis is probably one of the best in history. Everyone is jealous of their position and the many races they win. I want to be in that position too.
While Norris has had a very good second year in F1, currently sitting in 7th place on the Drivers’ championship table with 69 points. But beating Hamilton, even in equal machinery, won’t be an easy job at all. Ask Valtteri Bottas.
Lando Norris reacts to his dip in form
The young Briton got off the blocks in 2020 with a dream start, notching up a podium in Austria. He followed that up with some more impressive performances, such as two P5 finishes (Styrian GP and British GP) and a P4 at Monza.
However, Norris saw a lull in form. He registered a grand total of zero points in three successive races between Russia and Portugal. But the 20-year-old seems to be coping well with it.

He did manage to get back amongst the points at Imola with a P8 finish. However, in a tight mid-field battle, Norris knows he’ll need to scrap it out for the final 4 race, in order to push himself further up the standings.
