McLaren did not have the best qualifying session at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Although both Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris showed pace at the start of the session, only Norris made it to Q3. Ricciardo missed out and finished in P11 as he incurred some underbody damage during his hot lap.

The Australian picked up the damage when he was riding the Turn 10 kerb. Norris too complained about the same kerb after his qualifying session and called it dangerous. He mentioned that though the kerbs are good, the Turn 10 kerb is not ideally located.

I think the only problem is the exit from Turn 10: Lando Norris

“The curbs, to be honest, bit me in qualifying. I think I got one bike over the curb at the exit of Turn 10 and damaged the underbody,” said Ricciardo of his damage.

Lando too concurred with his teammate about the Turn 10 Kerb. “In my opinion, the curbs here are good. Of course, they are not the standard FIA curbs. I think the only problem is the exit from Turn 10. What makes it difficult is that it’s at a strange angle.

Since this is a street circuit, both Norris and Ricciardo would have liked to finish higher, as overtaking would be difficult in the race. Let’s see if both drivers can make up places at the start of the race.
