Who knew there was a more dangerous sport than F1? Cars go at over 200 miles an hour and there are multiple other factors that make accidents fatal, if any unfortunate ones take place. Around 50 drivers have died on the track since the beginning of the sport. And the FIA kept improving the safety measures till they hit the current level of near-perfect safety. But Lando Norris seems to not like some parts of it as he gets made fun of in the MotoGP world.

For the summer break, Norris decided to return to Silverstone. But this time, he came as an audience member to witness the MotoGP race and not as a driver. As the race proceedings took place, he was seated inside a garage with his entourage. Looking at the fearless way in which the racers drive their motorbikes, he was flabbergasted. And their exhibition of bravado got him a little embarrassed as he drew a comparison between the safety in F1 and MotoGP.

Norris recorded the highlights of his visit to the race on his ‘Quadrant’ YouTube channel. “These guys are bonkers,” said Norris. “More bonkers than F1?” – the natural next question followed by his cameraman. Norris continued, saying, Yeah. I’m like, wrapped up in a nice little car. They’re just out. We’d be laughed for the fact that we’ve got seatbelts on.”

All throughout his answer, he had a sheepish smile on his face. While this might have been an embarrassing incident, he’s also said that something “exciting” is coming his way in F1.

Norris said, as quoted by Mirror, “Now, where are we on that story? It’s hard to say because it’s been so up and down, but I want to believe we’re in the most exciting phase in terms of who we’re about to have on board. We have some good people that are coming from Ferrari, from Red Bull, people who have a lot of respect, knowledge, expertise in all of these different areas.”
