What can be more difficult than managing competitive racing drivers? Racing drivers who have all their life’s ambition on the line. Toto and Susie Wolff opened up about this in an interview they gave recently.
Motorsports’ power couple Susie and Toto Wolff have set themselves apart as stalwarts of the driver management scene. However, in an interview, they recently spilled the beans on what allows them to be good at what they do. When asked, “What’s easier – managing Jack or professional drivers?” Both of them remarked how their son, Jack, was as difficult, if not more, to manage as their respective drivers.

“They are all stubborn,” quipped Wolff. According to Susie Wolff, it is always difficult managing with Jack because of the “constant conversation.” The most important aspect is the inquisitiveness that both Drivers and Jack share.

Having said that, Toto Wolff has had his fair share of struggles when it comes to intra-team harmony.

Toto Wolff is arguably one of the most decorated Team Principals in Formula 1 history. However, success comes at a cost. The rivalry between Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg in the early days of the turbo hybrid era has left a bad taste in the mouth for Wolff.
Speaking about the rivalry, Wolff explained, “If the debriefing room is full of negativity because the two drivers are hostile with each other then that will spill over into the energy in the room and that is not something I will ever allow again.”
