Lewis Hamilton’s F1 Retirement Prediction On the Brink of Becoming a Reality

There is a lot of speculation regarding Lewis Hamiton’s future in the sport of F1 following the controversial Abu Dhabi GP. However, a few years ago, the Knight had stated that he would leave the sport when he was 37.

Earlier this month the Mercedes driver celebrated his 37th birthday, and fans are wondering if the prediction he’d made for himself is coming true.

Lewis Hamilton: prediction for his retirement could come true in 2022

Back in 2015, Hamilton stated he would part ways with the world of F1 once he turned 37. In January of this year, he celebrated that milestone, and many are wondering if Lewis is seriously considering retirement.

Hamilton had said back in 2015, as quoted by the Express“When I think about what year I would probably end up stopping, it’d be about 37 maybe.

“I want to enjoy my period of time because I think I’ve earned it here, but I don’t want to overstay my welcome because I know that every year that I stay there’s one young kid who may have had a chance to come through, but because I stayed his chance may have been missed. So at one point I’m going to be conscious of that,” he concluded.

However, there is still some hope regarding the 7-time world champion returning to the grid for the 2022 season, as the Knight put pen to paper with the Silver Arrows till the end of the 2023 season.
