This Sunday was a dream for motor sporting fans as two of the crown jewels of the Triple Crown, the Monaco GP and Indy 500, geared up to present a spectacle. And as fans awaited the day to unfold, the races were ready to serve. The post-podium press conference saw two people, Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso, who are regulars not wanting Esteban Ocon to relish the time there as they awaited, “the greatest spectacle in racing”.

Esteban Ocon shifted the tides of time as with his Alpine he broke through the hegemony of the big three, who have now become the big four with Aston Martin and Alonso’s combination. And the Frenchman who celebrated in parc ferme like he had won the race wanted to take in every moment, including the presser, but Verstappen and Alonso, like many of us, had other plans.

Verstappen, who has been at the media interaction for podium winner more time than anybody else in the past few years, now has the constant company of the man he looks up to in Alonso. The duo during the conference were visibly restless, as they wanted to catch the Indy 500 action. While they were discussing the time difference, looking at their watches, Nando even asked about it. And when Ocon was asked about this podium being a turning point for Alpine but Max cut him off. The Dutchman said, “500 start. 500 starts. Just mention Indy. Clock is ticking.” This cemented the duo, wanting to cut short the interviews in order to watch the action at Indianapolis.

While the duo cut short his time during the interview, Ocon managed to vocalize everything he had perhaps felt since his last podium in 2021.

Esteban Ocon calls Formula 1 unpredictable

A few days ago, Alpine CEO Laurent Rossi made a public spectacle of the dirty laundry of the team as he bashed the team for not performing up to the mark. However, with Esteban’s podium, the lashing brigade may stop as he feels it is a boost to the whole Enstone-based team.

“Why, everyone’s delighted, that’s for sure. Formula 1 is unpredictable. You don’t know what’s going to happen and at the moment, how tight the field is, a little bit more pace can change your weekend completely. And, and yeah, this weekend, it’s been an awesome one, an awesome preparation and yeah, as I keep saying, we keep pushing, we don’t stop believing and hopefully, that’s the first podium of many.”
