The 2022 Formula One season will have new regulations entering the sport, teams are in a catch-22 situation, whether they should focus on this year or concentrate on next year.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen agrees and feels his Milton-Keynes colleagues should put in the effort for 2021. The Dutchman urges his team not to repeat history as seen back in 2008 when BMW stopped developing their car to focus on the following season.
Red Bull sits on top of the constructor’s table with 178 points and would like to extend their lead from rivals, Mercedes.

The battle between Mercedes and Red Bull intensifies
Out of the six races for this season, the Silver Arrows have won three out of those six, while the Milton-Keynes have won the remain three.
At Monaco GP, things went south for the Brackley-based squad as Lewis Hamilton placed seventh and Valtteri Bottas had to retire due to a botched pitstop. Verstappen won that race, giving his team to take the lead in the battle for the title.
However, instead of improving in Baku, Mercedes suffered another horrid weekend. As Bottas placed twelfth and Hamilton fell from second to fifteenth when the race was restarted.
