McLaren, Aston Martin & Mercedes All Unite to Console George Russell After Heartbreaking Styrian GP F1 DNF

It was a roller coaster of emotions of Williams’ George Russell at the Styrian Grand Prix. From having his best start in tenth place to retiring from the race due to a power unit failure, his Sunday went from good to terrible.
However competitive F1 may be, it is, at the end of the day, a community, and the entire community came together to lend support to the Briton after his heartbreaking DNF. Teams put their rivalry aside and consoled the youngster, sending him positive messages and keep his head up as he will have another opportunity to bag points in a week’s time.
George Russell gets a wave of positive messages from F1 teams

Taking to Twitter to share his emotions after the Styrian Grand Prix, Russell wrote, “This one hurt. Every single member of the team should hold their head high today. We were up there on merit. Racing can be brutal but we keep fighting.”
What followed was support for the 23-year-old from teams like McLaren, Aston Martin, and Mercedes, telling him to chin up and look forward to the next race.

It was another horrible weekend for the Grove-based team, as they went empty-handed from the Styrian Grand Prix. They looked set to score their first F1 points this season, but fate had different plans.
While the Briton sustained a DNF, his teammate, Nicholas Latifi, crossed the line in seventeenh place with three laps down.

However, the team remains optimistic and will learn from their mistakes this weekend and return stronger, looking to make amends when they race for the second time at the Red Bull Ring in a week’s time.
