Behind every cold-hearted person, there is a kind heart that has been treated with coldness for a while. Jos Verstappen revealed his parenting plans for Max Verstappen in a recently surfaced post on Twitter. The father of Max Verstappen denied all the accusations of him treating the two-time world champion with coldness and claimed that he never abused his child. But what exactly was Jos Verstappen’s parenting plan for Max Verstappen?

Max Verstappen is somewhat of a cold-hearted person and is known not to take a loss well. This could be noticed when Max Verstappen refused to give a slipstream to Daniel Ricciardo at the 2018 Austrian Grand Prix when the Australian did the same for him during the previous laps. Also, during the 2022 Brazilian GP, when Max refused to let Sergio Perez through when the Mexican was fighting for 2nd in the championship. Checo helped Verstappen at multiple races by either letting him through easily or by holding people up.

The Dutchman’s cold and aggressive attitude is often attributed to Jos Verstappen abusing Max when he was younger and being hard on him if he did not perform well. However, in a recently surfaced tweet, Jos Verstappen claims he never abused his son. Jos suggested that he was hard on the 25-year-old only because he knew what it took to reach the absolute top of motorsport.

According to the Tweet, Jos Verstappen said, “There are people who say I’m a bad father because I abused my child, I never abused him!” Further adding, “I raised him, I was hard on him. That was my plan, many people cannot imagine what it takes to reach the absolute top level of a sport.”

Max Verstappen’s cold attitude is not because of his father abusing him but because the Dutchman realizes what it takes to become the greatest driver the sport has ever seen. Even Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel had these cold moments when they were fighting with their rivals and teammates for championships. However, with Red Bull being so fast despite the aerodynamic penalty, many eyes have been raised against the legality of RB19.

Many believe Red Bull has tricked or breached the aerodynamic rules just to gain an advantage over the field with talks of the Red Bull triple DRS going around the paddock. Max Verstappen overtook Lewis Hamilton at the Australian GP with ease, like he was taking candy from a kid. Toto Wolff believes Red Bull has a mind-boggling straight-line advantage. He suggested it has nothing to do with Red Bull breaching any rules, but just the Austrian team understanding their car very well and developing it the right way.

According to Formula1news.co.uk, Toto Wolff said “They have a straight-line speed advantage with the DRS open that is just mind-boggling. But this is the meritocracy of the sport and if you have a car that’s that quick on the straight because you’re doing the right things, then it’s up to us to sort this out and find the tools to improve the straight-line performance.”
