What happened to Nico Rosberg at the United States GP in 2015? Remember when he lost the lead after a strange spin? The duo famously were childhood friends and had known each other since karting days. Things went sour when they found a competitive threat and championship rival in each other. The fortunate or the unfortunate part of the whole fiasco was the fact that they shared the same team.

Before the US Grand Prix commenced, Hamilton had won two consecutive races, extending his championship charge. The driver won the US Grand Prix too, sealing his world championship title that year. Later on, a famous interview of Rosberg’s post-race did the rounds on social media. Titled “Nico Rosberg goes crazy Lewis Hamilton won”, fans found it hilarious and misleading at the same time.

In the video, a clearly dejected Rosberg said, “Yeah, I just go wheel spin, and it’s never happened to me ever. You know not even testing and racing, never ever something like that. So I thought I can’t explain it…” Though the driver was upset, “crazy,” was not the word that defined him in the interview.

Notably, if the German driver won that race, it would’ve kept his championship chances alive. Because he went on to win three races back to back after the US Grand Prix.
