Daniel Ricciardo can easily be considered as the life of the party in the paddock. With jokes and laughter and even a good music taste- it would be sinful to not invite the lively Aussie to a party. And he knows that! Hence, the driver always has a set of party shirts in handy. Recently, in Jeddah, the driver donned one of his much-awaited party shirts.

Earlier in June, Daniel Ricciardo sat down for the Pardon My Take podcast with Big Cat and PFT Commenter. Over the course of the podcast, the driver broke down the science behind a good party shirt. “You know it when you see one. You know when some people wear a “party shirt,” but it’s not; it’s an old Hawaiian dad shirt or something.” 

Clearly passionate about party shirts, Ricciardo described the ideal party shirt. “When you see a good party shirt- oh! It’s magical.”

In the same podcast, Ricciardo revealed he had one favorite party shirt inside his closet. “I got one with these two beautiful unicorns on its… and it’s like, just majestic. That’s my newest favorite party shirt.”

With the suspense surrounding this majestic shirt building up, Ricciardo had his big reveal on Thursday at Jeddah- and we were not disappointed. It really is as the driver described it.

Before the podcast, in 2020, Ricciardo sat down with GQ to list his essentials. And, surprise, surprise, his number one essential was a party shirt. “I’ve always got a party shirt. You’ve got to be merry, there could be an occasion… I certainly do have a collection of party shirts; I’m guilty of that.”

The Burberry unicorn shirt seems like a fitting example of what a party shirt should be. As Ricciardo explained, “I think most importantly, a party shirt- it’s how you wear it. If you wear it with confidence and also if you don’t take it too seriously, then you’re going to pull it off nine times out of ten.”
