F1 has been striding into the phase where technology is turning up to be an enormous deal. However, Mercedes F1 driver, Lewis Hamilton, doesn’t seem too happy with this transition.
Simulators are one of the most dependable machines that the F1 teams are relying upon over the past few years, be it designing a new car or working out a new update. What’s more, it doesn’t just help to the teams, but their drivers as well.
Certain F1 drivers spend hours, or even days on a simulator to improvise their pace on the track.

And then there’s Hamilton.
The seven-time world champion apparently spends only around 20 laps a year on average, which is far less when compared to others.
When asked why he avoids using the simulators in Brackley, Hamilton revealed that he bears no interest in relying on them for performance gain.
Responding to Martin Brundle, the Mercedes driver said, “I hardly ever drive on the simulator. I maybe do 20 laps a year, maybe. I have no interest in the simulator.”
Track-walks are a pointless exercise: Lewis Hamilton
The Briton revealed that he isn’t a great fan of track walks either, claiming it as a pointless exercise. Teams and their drivers take a stroll around the circuit by foot on Thursday ahead of a race weekend in a bid to gain some understanding of the track.
“I used to walk the track when I was younger,” Hamilton said. “But what I’ve discovered is that for me, it was a pointless exercise. It’s a lot different when you approach it at high speed.

“So what I found was that it was just wasting energy. My weekend’s all about keeping energy and maintaining it so I can do the job.”
F1 is all set to welcome the Monaco Grand Prix this weekend after a two-year wait. The last time F1 raced along the streets of Monaco, Hamilton claimed his third race win on that circuit not before portraying an incredible level of defending from the raging Red Bull of Max Verstappen.

Unsurprisingly though, the Briton stands as the favorite this time around, but with a tinge of fear in the form of Verstappen. Hence, can the flying Dutchman get his redemption on Hamilton this time around for his missed 2019 opportunity? Only time will tell.
