Red Bull GmbH launched an internal investigation against Christian Horner after a female colleague’s allegations of inappropriate behavior were made public by the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf. In response to these allegations, Red Bull hired a specialist barrister to look into the matter and said in a statement that they wanted to resolve this situation as soon as possible. However, we’re two weeks into the investigation and there’s still no sign of a resolution coming out anytime soon. As more and more time goes on, people are starting to speculate and there have been many rumors about the investigation within the community.

However, in a recent statement, Red Bull advisor Dr. Helmut Marko addressed these rumors and commended Red Bull for allowing the time required to conclude the investigation as fairly as possible. “As you know, this is an internal investigation. The sooner a result is available, the better because, of course, rumors and other stories are bound to sprout due to the long duration,“ Dr. Marko told Red Bull’s ServusTV channel as per a report from Autosport. “[But] I think Red Bull has reacted very well in this matter. The long duration of this investigation is not their fault. They are endeavoring to [have] a fair investigation and then react accordingly.“

It’s not just Helmut Marko either. The man under investigation himself spoke about the rumors surrounding the internal probe.

Christian Horner denied all the rumors surrounding his investigation

Craig Slater from Sky Sports caught up with Christian Horner during the media round following the launch of the RB20. He asked Horner about some of the rumors surrounding the investigation and all of them were swiftly denied by the Red Bull Racing Team Principal.

Responding to the question if he has thought about stepping away from his role in the team, Christian Horner said, “No, it’s business as usual. There obviously is a process. Obviously, I fully deny any accusations that have been made against me. But, of course, I’ll work with that process which I hope is concluded in the near future.”

He also spoke on the rumored power struggle within the Red Bull camp and whether it is true. “Look, we’re one team, we’re one group. The support from the shareholders has been phenomenal, and without that support, we wouldn’t be here. So, no, that’s not correct,” Horner added.

He also denied the rumors of having a failing relationship with the Verstappens. Horner said, “No, not at all. I was with Jos and Max at Silverstone a couple of days ago. Max is very focused on his job. He has been very supportive and yeah, I am looking forward to the season ahead with him.”

He also expressed his optimism about how soon he thinks the matter will be resolved. “Obviously there’s a process that has to be respected, and hopefully it will be in the not-too-distant future,” Horner concluded.
