Lewis Hamilton hasn’t won a race for over a year and a half. That’s something very strange for a driver who has the record for most wins in F1 with 103 wins. Max Verstappen, on the other hand, is on a 10-race winning streak. However, the Dutchman’s flawless run might come to an end as Lewis Hamilton unlocks hidden strength with the W14. But what is this hidden strength?

Doubts were already in the air about Red Bull’s performance at the Singapore GP. Both Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez advised that the Singapore GP is going to be challenging for them. The same was seen during the Friday practice session. On the other hand, Lewis Hamilton, for the first time this season, seemed to be happy with his car. Hamilton finished both the practice sessions in P5.

While the 7X wasn’t the quickest, he seemed to be confident in the car, something he has lacked the whole season. The Brit was only 2 tenths off the pace of the Ferrari in FP1. Hamilton advised that it’s been the best practice session of the year for him, as he explained that more time will be found as the team makes changes to the car overnight.

According to Formulapassion.it, Lewis Hamilton said, “It was a great day here in Singapore. The PL1s were solid, and even though we were still a little far from where we wanted to be it didn’t go wrong. The PL2s were definitely the best this year: it was nice to end such a positive Friday. I think we have a great base from which to start for the rest of the weekend. It’s the best feeling I’ve had this year on Friday, so I hope that overnight we can do a good job, as we always tend to do, and keep improving.” [Translated via Google]

With the Red Bulls struggling, it could very well be Lewis Hamilton’s chance to win his first race of the season and equal Sebastian Vettel’s record for most wins at the Singapore GP. Let’s hear what the Red Bull drivers had to say about the Singapore struggles.

Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez finished the FP2 session at the Singapore GP in P8 and P7, respectively. The Red Bulls were about 7 tenths off the pace of the Ferrari. Making up 7 tenths just in the setup seems like a big ask. Both the Red Bull drivers were disappointed with the RB19 as they explained their struggle.

After the FP2 session, during the interviews, Max Verstappen said, “It has been worse than expected. We have work to do tonight. We will try to improve, but it’s a big difference.” Sergio Perez resembled Verstappen’s comments as he said, “It’s been tough with the rear, especially in FP2. We expected Ferrari to be strong. We want to close the gap, but it will be difficult.”
