Daniel Ricciardo has become one of the most loveable figures in the Formula 1 scene. Fans have loved the driver ever since his debut in F1 as a test driver for Red Bull back in 2009. Ever since then, he has been driving mainly for Red Bull, until 2018. This is when Ricciardo decided it was time to test the waters in other teams.
After joining Renault in 2019, he moved to McLaren for the 2021 season. After 2022, he got back on board with Red Bull and raced for AlphaTauri in 2023. As he returns to the team that gave him the majority of his years as a racer, he has a few words to share about the team he calls his F1 Family.

The closer we move toward the beginning of the 2024 season, Daniel Ricciardo talks about his journey as a Formula 1 racer. After the opening for a seat in AlphaTauri came up as a last-minute proposal, Ricciardo prepared himself to integrate himself back into the Red Bull Family. While sharing the reflections of his season he said, “A part of me knows, I like being back in the Red Bull Family, I know they can throw these curveballs, if you will, at you, so I try to remind myself to stay on my toes and be ready, just in case.”

He added, “But yeah, I didn’t think it was going to come maybe that soon. In the end, this is where I want to be, I want to be back on the grid, and I was so happy being back in the Red Bull family that it was an opportunity that I didn’t want to miss.” Happy about the decision he made, Ricciardo said, “So I kind of just used all that as, all right, well, this is it. Like it reminded me of when I started my career and when Red Bull would kind of throw the kitchen sink at me.“

While further discussing how the last 6 months have been slower for the driver than he was used to in the last 15 to 20 years. He ended by saying how excited he was to have that spike of action in his life again. And as Ricciardo takes the wheel at AlphaTauri, his reaction to the new name change, screamed Daniel.

AlphaTauri had a shocking change in the identity of the team. The new name for the team is going to be Visa Cash App RB F1 team starting 2024. The team, based in Faenza, has undergone a significant rebranding with a new identity and even Visa’s Vice President acknowledges that the new name is a “mouthful.” While it is a mouthful, it was an important change that the team needed to undergo to keep the team running.

Although the new name was silently accepted by the Formula 1 federation, fans on social media did not take it lightly. Social media has been filled with reactions to the team’s new name, with many fans expressing dissatisfaction. Some see the change as an over-commercialization of traditional team names, echoing similar sentiments seen when Alfa Romeo transformed into Stake F1.
Ricciardo will lead the newly branded Visa Cash App RB, along with Yuki Tsunoda. Known for his vibrant personality, Ricciardo expresses excitement on Instagram, stating: “New name, new colours, lezgobaybee!” giving fans nothing less than what they can expect from Ricciardo. Although many fans still did not resonate with the name, Ricciardo’s optimism has started to get infectious. He is ready to take on 2024 after reuniting with his Red Bull Family.
