Savage Lewis Hamilton Goes on a Twitter Spree, Digging Out Hate After His Mercedes F1 Announcement in 2012

Lewis Hamilton completely dominated the turbo-hybrid era with Mercedes. However, what may come as a surprise to the newer fans of the sport, his decision to join the team was criticized by many when it was announced. Lewis Hamilton recently took to Twitter to take a dig at the ones that doubted him.
When Lewis Hamilton signed for Mercedes in 2013, they were at best a midfield challenger. That is why, when the news was announced that the Briton would be racing for them, people went berserk. Why would Hamilton leave an established giant in McLaren to join an unknown Mercedes? Well, the rest as they say is history.

Hamilton took to Twitter recently to retweet this tweet by his Mercedes team.

However, that is not all. Hamilton was not in the mood to take any prisoners. He retweeted a tweet posted by a fan back in the day when Hamilton was announced to race for the team. The tweet read, “@MercedesAMGF1 @lewishamilton more chance of lewis winning the lottery then winning a RACE with merc!!!”.

Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes have gone on to ensure that their names go down in the F1 history books as the greatest partnership ever. Hamilton himself recognizes this and has been as loyal as one can be.

Ross Brawn has been around the sport long enough to witness two of the greatest drivers this sport has ever seen. Recently, while talking about Hamilton’s struggles with Mercedes, Brawn had a very astute comparison to make.
He said, “Michael redefined his role back then, so he was part of the solution and helped build the team that would go on to win eight straight constructors’ titles. He sacrificed himself for the future of the team, so to speak.”. Brawn then went on to compare the two. “You can compare Lewis’ situation a bit with Michael’s comeback with Mercedes. As a driver, you always have to decide whether you want to be part of the solution or part of the problem.”.
