Following his debut in 2016, Ocon’s F1 career has been a series of highs and lows- some of which Netflix captured in 2018. After two quality seasons with Force India, they showed Ocon the door in 2018. Netflix brought a lot of popularity to the Frenchman, who credited the show for his Renault seat in 2020.

Season 1 of the series focused on the 2018 season. Netflix even covered the downfall of Force India and its financial emancipation in Lawrence Stroll. With Stroll taking over the company, we see Perez and Ocon battling it out to keep their F1 seat. The pink-suited teammates didn’t get along, therefore, intensifying the competition.
In hindsight, the sixth episode of the season is worth a watch. Will Buxton foretells, “Esteban’s story is amazing. He’s come from nothing to having the potential to be not just a race winner but a championship contender.”
