One thing Max Verstappen cannot get enough of is racing. F1 is currently undergoing a one-week break before action resumes in Imola. However, the Dutchman is in no mood to go into the tranquil mode. To keep himself on his nerves, he recently participated in the virtual 24-hour Nurburgring. Honestly, it does not come as a surprise given how much he loves virtual racing on his home sim. While at it, he treated his fans to one of his biggest prized possessions, which he proudly keeps beside his rig.

It wasn’t too long ago when Verstappen participated in the virtual 24-hour Le Mans. The event carried much hype but failed to live up to expectations owing to several technical glitches. It frustrated the reigning F1 champ so much that he quit the race mid-way and lashed out at the organizers.

The fateful night of the 2021 Abu Dhabi will remain in F1 fans’ memory for a very long time to come. Owing to an erroneous call from race director Michael Masi, Verstappen won his maiden championship against Lewis Hamilton who was gunning for the coveted 8th world championship title.

The Dutchman, despite no fault of his own, got a lot of hate online, as many branded him as an unworthy winner. However, that narrative changed recently. Max, during the virtual 24-hour Nurburgring race, picked up his WDC trophy and proudly showed it to his fans. He talked about how, as a kid, he never believed he would have it in his living room.

That got fans emotional as they lauded him for the achievement and for being honest with himself. Take a look at how fans on Twitter reacted to his comment.

One fan backed him to repeat the feat many more times. Given the form he is in and the kind of dominant cars Red Bull is producing year after year, it honestly is not a far-fetched dream.

Some fans joked about how Max casually keeps the priceless trophy beside his gaming setup and does not have a dedicated cabinet for it.

Do you think it’s time Max gets a dedicated cabinet for his WDC trophies? After all, there’s only so much space left on that table and the man himself looks to be in no mood to stop collecting them anytime soon.
