“That’s Rude”: Fans Rush to Comfort Charles Leclerc as Teammate Carlos Sainz Hurts “Sensitive” Driver

Ferrari’s C2 challenge is back and, as always, it’s hilarious. They challenged Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz to name as many US states as they can. There is a catch, though. They had to do it while taking a lap of the circuit in a Ferrari supercar. Everything went well. But then what did Carlos do that made Charles call him “rude”?

The challenge started with Carlos in the driving seat and Charles in the passenger seat telling him the rules of the game. They were to switch seats on the 11th turn of the lap. The incident that made Leclerc call Sainz rude happened during the seat switching.

What did Carlos Sainz do that Charles Leclerc did not like?

The challenge started with Sainz as the first state he listed was Alabama. Leclerc quickly replied with Alaska. Sainz was clearly not into the challenge as the first thing that came to his mind after Charles’ reply was “Alaskan Malamute”. The distracted Spaniard started talking about the car, but Charles was quick to remind him of the challenge.

Despite reminding Carlos to stick to the challenge, it was the Monegasque who was distracted now. As Carlos was trying to recall a state, he complimented his teammate on maneuvering the apex well. The challenge continued but as they were switching seats after turn 11, Carlos pushed Charles out of the car and told him to “Go”. Charles replied, “That’s rude to say it like that, but that’s fine I’m not that sensitive.”

Has Ferrari thrown in the towel after the Mercedes resurgence?

Mercedes have showcased some serious pace after the final amendments to the car this season. They outperformed Ferrari in the US, but it was Mexico that must have hurt Ferrari the most. Lewis Hamilton finished P2 at the Mexican GP and George Russell finished P4. The Tifosi drivers could only secure P5 (Carlos Sainz) and P6 (Charles Leclerc).

Reacting to the recent Mercedes resurgence, GP Fans quoted Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto as saying, “They have developed more on the car than we did. We know as well we stopped the development of our car quite early, focusing on 2023.” Binotto continued, “So I’m not too concerned by the rate of development because I know as well when we stopped developing.”

Ferrari is currently in danger of losing its runners-up spot in the constructors’ standings as they only have 40 points between them and Mercedes.
