After weeks of uneasy calm, there was a lot of news regarding the F1 calendar today. The French Grand Prix won’t be happening this year and the British Grand Prix won’t have any spectators. More importantly, the sport unveiled a blueprint for a potential schedule, should the season get underway as planned. Furthermore, many circuits have suggested holding multiple races on the same track to squeeze in a few more races. Assuming the sport holds multiple rounds in Austria, there are a few teams looking stronger than others.
F1 teams that may be looking strong
Several rumors are doing the rounds that the Red Bull Ring could host back to back races. Considering the nature of the circuit and the lack of fans, planning a secondary race on short notice shouldn’t be much of an issue. Moreover, in the hypothetical scenario that we do end up racing multiple times in Spielberg, a few teams will be very happy.

Red Bull have enjoyed 2 victories at their home race in the past few years. Heading into the Red Bull Ring, the Milton-Keynes outfit has plenty of reasons to feel confident. Starting the season with a win and making it a hattrick at their track would be an excellent way to kick start this epidemic infested season.
Max Verstappen won’t have his Orange Army cheering him on. Nevertheless, the Dutchman would be very happy leading the Championship after the first race.
Traditionally, teams run very little downforce at Spielberg. The track consists of long straights with a fairly simple track layout. Ferrari had the best engine and top speed in 2019 and many would expect the Scuderia to put on a strong show. Yes, they didn’t have the best preseason test but nobody really knows how powerful the SF1000 really is.

Joining Ferrari and Red Bull, one would expect Renault and AlphaTauri to also have a good outing at the Red Bull Ring. Renault tends to perform fairly well on low downforce tracks and should be favorites. As for AlphaTauri, that Honda engine could do them wonders on their debut as a rebranded team.
However, these predictions could be completely wrong. There are no guarantees in the world of F1 and we could even have a surprise winner.
