The 2022 F1 regulation overhaul caught the Silver Arrows by surprise. They took a gamble with their car philosophy and it didn’t pay off. However, according to boss Toto Wolff, what led to their demise in 2022 will be what powers them to championship glory in 2023.

While speaking to Motorsport.com, Wolff explained, “The wind tunnel has been a major disadvantage for us so far because we won the Constructors’ Championship in 2021. He went on to detail how their miserable 2022 season means that they have an advantage against their rivals. “If we finish third in the championship we will have 14% more time compared to Red Bull. This time the new regulations will be to our advantage.”

What’s more? Red Bull might even be getting a 25% wind tunnel time deduction penalty by the FIA for their cost cap breach.
