WATCH: Enraged Fernando Alonso Thwacks Steering Wheel Amidst Alpine F1 Team Orders at Montreal

Fernando Alonso started P2 and has now finished P7. The Alpine driver managed to keep P2 in the beginning laps. However, Carlos Sainz soon overtook him. Though Alonso’s realistic chances never allowed him to win the race ahead of Max Verstappen, he could’ve finished better.

In fact, in the end, he could not even overtake Esteban Ocon in order to secure points. Notably, Alonso did have a bad start to the race as Verstappen’s positioning and the pace did not allow him to present a threat.

Further, he was rather decent, but having not pitted cost him several positions after a late pit stop.

Frustrated Fernando Alonso looks devastated over P7

Now a video has popped up where Alonso can be seen really banging his steering wheel. The race clearly frustrated him, as he really couldn’t hide the anger. Several Alonso fans are also feeling for the Spaniard.

Of course, Alonso’s frustration is understandable after his brilliant performances. He qualified P2 on a wet track and under tough circumstances. He managed to outpace a Ferrari and, despite being a little slow on the start, could’ve given Red Bull a run for their money. In the end moments, the team orders to not fight with Ocon were clearly frustrating for the Spaniard.
