During an exclusive interview with Maxim Magazine, Jared Stern asked Stroll about Vettel. The question stated, “Do you see Sebastian Vettel’s retirement as a setback or an opportunity?”
To this, he replied, “I want to thank Sebastian from the bottom of my heart for the great work that he has done for Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One Team over the past year-and-a-half. We made it clear to him that we wanted him to continue with us next year, but in the end, he has done what he feels is right for himself and his family, and of course, we respect that.”

Further, the Canadian billionaire spoke about life after Vettel. Aston Martin replaced one world champion with another world champion and Stroll believes Alonso was the “natural” choice.
“It seemed natural therefore to invite Fernando Alonso to be part of the development of a winning team, and we very quickly established in our recent conversations that we have the same ambitions and values, and it was logical and easy to confirm our desire to work together,” he revealed.
