The 2022 season of the Formula One World Championship has witnessed three races so far, and we have viewed some exciting racing action already. Ferrari stormed to the top of the table while Red Bull and Mercedes are trying to match the Prancing Horse. On to the midfield battle, Daniel Ricciardo and McLaren have not had the best of starts.

McLaren had a strong pre-season in Barcelona. However, the team struggled for pace during the second testing in Bahrain. As a result, both the cars did not finish in the points in the subsequent race at the same venue. Although Ricciardo won a race in his first year at McLaren, it is no secret the Australian has not matched his expectations.

After his tough start to the 2022 season, he gives his thoughts on the targets he wants to achieve this year with 20 races remaining.

“Despite the success at Monza, it was not an easy year. Looking at the results, I have to say that there is still room for improvement in the ranking. That didn’t go well.”

The vastly experienced Ricciardo still believes there is a need for improvement to adapt to the new regulations. “I can still learn. You can overcome bad times. Even after years in Formula 1, you have to go down different paths to succeed, because if you don’t change and adapt, someone else will and succeed,” explained the Australian after a frustrating start to 2022.
