If you are asked to choose your favorite golfer or your favorite golf moments, many of the lists will have Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and jack Nicklaus. But what happens when a professional golfer has to choose the top five from his fellow players? It might take an interesting turn as it did for Adam Scott. He chose his top five golfers at a talk show in July 2022.

Scott was the number-one golfer from mid-May to August 2014 and attended ‘The Rick Shiels Golf Show’ last year. The official Instagram handle of the show shared a small video clip of their entire conversation. The PGA Tour player talked about his top five golfers and why he chose them. They captioned the post, “Adam Scott’s top 5 golfers!” Even though he himself has registered many milestones under his name, who is it that inspires him?

Is Tiger Woods leading on the list?

Shiels asked Scott, who recently received a reality check,  asked him, “Who has been a golfer that you’ve looked at and just thought, like, wow, they hit it.The golfer with 31 professional wins talked about his list and said, “I have about five guys on my list. That when I played with him earlier in my career, I’m like, okay.” And guess what? Who was the first name on the list? It was none other than the GOAT, Tiger Woods, which is not surprising at all. Despite being away from the green, he has already left a mark and stays the favorite of many.

The second on the list was Ernie Els. Scott said, “Ernie. I played with him a lot in tournaments early on, and he’s played three of the best rounds of golf I’ve ever seen.” However, the third on the list was Vijay Singh, who won the PNC Championship by pairing up with his son in 2022. Davis Love III followed VJ on the list, and the Australian golfer stated why. He said, “Davis love was a big surprise to me when I first played with him.

However, the last on the list was Phil Mickelson. A well-known rival of the former number-one golfer, Woods. Scott stated why he chose the lefty on the list: “I played with a lot in majors through the 2000 Thursday, Friday pairing.” He also shared a funny conversation with the pro about pairing and said, “we seemed to, you know, we’ve joked about it. We always get paired. We got paired together for, like, ten years.
