Ian Poulter’s transition to LIV Golf in 2022 has complicated his relationship with the Ryder Cup. He is one of 11 players who have competed in the Abu Dhabi Championship on the DP World Tour, previously the European Tour while playing for LIV. Ian Poulter, on his Twitter, recently informed fans about his dropping out of the Orlando event because of an unfortunate injury.

Did Ian Poulter play a classic April Fools with the fans?
A while ago, Poulter posted on his Twitter handle a tweet that took the fans through a roller coaster ride. He tweeted that he is dropping out of the event in Orlando because of an untimely unfortunate injury.

Some fans were taken aback by the post whereas some simply regarded it as a classic April Fools’ prank. A Twitter user inquired, “Is this an April fools?”, whereas another one remarked it as a “April Fools! Good man.” One more fan declared it as a prank commenting, “Thought it was a strange tweet until I realized it was April 1st…”

Some of the fans expressed their genuine concern for the player and wished him a speedy recovery. A user commented, “Get well soon” and another comment read, “No..!!! Godspeed IJP”. Another golf fan expressed his concern and hoped that the Poulter is fit to play in the upcoming Masters Tournament, “Hope your fit for the masters”.

Taking a dig at LIV Golf and Poulter, some users posted, “LIV fools, legacy disappeared for Arab money and major deserting” while the other one said that LIV Golf is actually capable of something like this, “What’s sad is this wouldn’t actually surprise any of us”. Another user brutally commented, “He’d probably do better than you”

It would be interesting to find out if this is just a prank or has Poulter actually backed out from the event. Will Joshua actually be taking his place? Well, everyone will find this out soon!
