‘Devoid of Integrity’: LIV Golf Defectors Join the Golf World in Thrashing Ex PGA Tour Pro for His Change of Heart Regarding No-Cut Events

LIV Golf emerged midway through last year and began causing trouble for the PGA Tour. It wasn’t just the Saudi-backed side poaching their players that infuriated the Tour; it was also the new style of golf that they were promoting. With fewer holes to play, smaller fields, and no cuts, LIV had introduced a modern era of golf. Of course, they received harsh criticism from the Tour for this. But now that seems to have backfired considering the Tour just piggybacked them.

Golf World takes a dig at former PGA Tour golfer for his recent statement

Recently, the PGA Tour announced a few changes to its 2024 schedule. And among them, to the surprise of everyone in the golf world, were no-cut events. The Tour had declared that at these designated events, only 70–80 of the top players would compete with no cuts.

Brandel Chamblee, an analyst for Golf Channel, and an ex-PGA Tour pro backed up the tour’s decision too, and in a viral video on Twitter, he compared the game to other sports, stating that the fans wanted to see the best players play the whole event, and not get cut out because they performance was “mediocre” towards the start. “Are cuts now really an antiquated homage to the past?” he questioned.  But the golf fans weren’t pleased. They could not believe the hypocrisy of Chamblee and lashed out at him for his change of heart.

The fans went on to shower Chamblee with insults. From calling him a loser to stating that he was the worst, they cursed him all over Twitter. They were appalled at the ex-Tour pro words to back the Tour.

Others in the golf community went on to question his integrity, considering how he was now promoting what everyone had criticized a year ago. They trashed him for not sticking to one side and called him out for being a dishonest journalist.

But fans weren’t the only furious ones. The LIV Golf players themselves took to the viral video and voiced their frustration. While Lee Westwood just laughed at the analyst’s words, Ian Poulter furiously called out the Tour and the golfer. He claimed that he knew this day would come and that the tour was the epitome of hypocrisy.
