Now, Dechambeau’s dedication to distance driving has helped make him one of the best at it. His skills are held in high regard, and so is his advice to anyone wanting to know more about the particulars. “What I was doing was just trying to swing as fast as possible to get it to go as far well, that caused a concussion,” he said.
According to DeChambeau, that is certainly not the ‘right way to go’, and one should avoid swinging fast when they are hitting hard. “That’s the key though, that is the key because you don’t need to accelerate the club really fast here, you need to be accelerating, or need to have the speed right down through impact, right.” he explained.
DeChambeau further spoke about the ball speed, and how one needs a longer, softer, and wider swing for a higher speed.

DeChambeau’s earlier participation at the Long Drive Championship was not an unexpected surprise for all his fans. His love for the long drive was never hidden, the 28-year-old often speaking of it.
“It’s possibly the most fun thing I could do in the game of golf right now,” DeChambeau admitted. “It is a part of golf, right? So I can’t say I like it better than golf. But I can say it is my favorite part of the game because there’s so much to be exploited in that aspect still”.

Bryson DeChambeau last played the Hero World Challenge hosted by Tiger Woods. While his next tournament is not yet confirmed, he can make an appearance at the Sentry Tournament of Champions taking place in January.
