Elliot was allegedly saying “five” in the direction of golfer Gary Woodland’s caddie. It was right before Woodland took his second shot. If found true, this would have been a major breach of rules. However, the Masters Tournament Committee cleared Koepka’s caddie of the allegations, sharing that no violation of rules took place.
In case of breach, the caddie would have been found violating Rule 10-a, and the LIV golfer’s 65 would have been turned into a 67. It is because two strokes are the penalty for the breach of the rule in question. Koepka later went on to finish at T2 on the leaderboard, walking away with $1,584,000 in earnings.
