The North Course with a par-71 now presents an improvised version of Thomas’ idea. Hanse and Shackelford worked determinately to restore this historical creativity. This included giving LACC’s course an integrated design with Thomas’ classic green layouts adding pin placements with wings.

The golf layout also successfully boasts the hosting of the Walker Cup in 2017. Not only with regard to challenge but also when it comes to scenery, LACC is an exceptional contender. It enjoys the outline of oaks and other indigenous sycamores with a classical outlook toward Beverly Hills.

Also, the first hole of the golf course has a historic touch of great Thomas bunkering fingers with tightly cropped turf. Impressively, the seventh hole is an example of “a course with-in a course” idea given by Thomas. These are some of the many amazing tests that the greens have to offer to golfers, as reported by GolfStars.

Apart from McIlroy, other renowned golfers have also shared their opinion on the LACC. This encompasses Patrick Cantlay who received his education in Los Angeles, the 2022 U.S. Open winner Matt Fitzpatrick and former World No. 1 Jon Rahm. Bryson DeChambeau too seems excited about the event.

The elite deviser Gil Hanse praised George Thomas’ original ideas. According to the reports, the designer said, “The architect that has had the most influence on our work, certainly in the last 10 years is George Thomas. Angles, strategy, and the “course within a course concept” were where he excelled.”
