The golf ball back rule proposal by the USGA and R&A has created havoc in the golf world. It has divided the golfers and other important entities. Where Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy have supported the rule proposal, others are still not entertained. One very prominent name on the list is Paige Spiranac. While the former golfer supported Tiger Woods with a creative take on his tampon incident with Justin Thomas, she hasn’t sided with the 15-time Major Champion on the golf ball back rule. The situation hasn’t been able to convince her as to how this rule will help anyone.
In the recent episode of her podcast, Playing a Round with Paige Renee, Paige Spiranac candidly opposed the rule and expressed her honest views.

Paige Spiranac is not on board with the ‘stupid’ golf ball back rule
Per Paige Spiranac, USGA is making the ball go shorter, and it’s about 5%. But they’re still doing it to preserve the game. The golfers are hitting it so much longer now that they can’t keep lengthening the golf courses. And that’s just not going to play the way it was intended to play.

Paige Spiranac said, “I think it’s stupid… This could only be adopted potentially in two tournaments, the US Open and The Open, the PGA Championship.”
The golf beauty believes that the rule proposal is “very tricky,” but she feels no need for the rule in the game. “I think with golf being in such a great spot right now. I don’t know why they would do this.” She reckons that this is not the right time to make changes. The authorities have been talking about it for over ten years, and they should have done it way before and not now.
The 2018 SI swimsuit model has opposed the rule before with a tweet. According to her, the rule was weird. While the golf world agreed with every word she said, some are still in support of it.

Paige Spiranac believes the rule proposal is just “getting people this bad taste in their mouth when it comes to the game of golf.” According to her statement, many other options were there to improve the game, like lengthening the course, but this rule was unwanted. “There’s things that you can do, change the golf ball, just stupid. And again, a lot of people just don’t understand it,” said the former professional golfer.
Is the pro golfer against the face of the PGA Tour?
When the former world number one golfer supported the rule, his good friend and brother opposed the regulation, it caused controversy in paradise. Rory McIlroy reportedly commented, “I’m glad in this new proposal that they haven’t touched the recreational golfer,” according to CBS Golf. Paige Spiranac, though, added backing to the professional golfer’s remarks in her podcast.

Paige Spiranac stood side by side with the two-time major championship winner. “Thomas came out, and he was like, This is stupid. Like, I don’t want to be involved in this. I don’t want to have to deal with this. It’s annoying, and I don’t like it.” This shows that Spiranac is firmly standing against Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy and supporting Justin Thomas on this.
