“If you know the name ‘Westy,’ then you would also know the great tales of victory of the English professional, Lee Westwood. The former #1, who has 44 professional wins under his name, has played in the European Tour, PGA Tour, and LIV Golf, along with the PGA Tour Champions. Notably, the 52-year-old is among the few golfers who have won on five continents. The great journey as a professional has helped him to be in the headlines ever since he debuted professionally. Even though his professional achievements and journey have been in the light, his progress and struggles in personal life, especially love life, are not known to many.

Lee Westwood’s ex wife and kids

Westwood, after turning professional in 1993, started to make a mark with his performance and soon, by 1996, started the winning spree. Well, the progress wasn’t limited to his professional life. During a golf tournament in 1995, Westwood met his Ryder Cup teammate’s sister, Laurie Coltart. The duo, after meeting, felt connected and progressed to making it official in 1999.

Laurie did a beautician course and has her salon named Fringe Benefits in Thornhill. With multiple roles to manage, she is a golf wife, writer, entrepreneur, and mother of two. In 2001, the couple welcomed their firstborn, Samuel Bevan Westwood. Due to the birth of his son and struggles on the course, the golfer took a significant break. Later in 2004, the duo welcomed the younger daughter, Poppy Grace Westwood.

Unfortunately, the couple reported a series of fights, resulting in separation after 16 years. After which, the children stay with their mother in Scotland. Soon after the separation, the golfer shared about starting to play in the European Tour again and expressed his stress. He said, “We know how mental golf is, so there’s been a lot going on, which has affected me in the head.”

But the golfer then met his now partner, Helen Storey, who still supports him on and off the course.

Back in 2015, Wylie Graham introduced Lee to Helen. The duo kept things slow. However, because of the undeniable magnetism, Westwood proposed to her in 2018, and that’s when their love story began officially. Three years after that, the duo married in 2021 in Las Vegas and spent time together travelling to San Diego for their honeymoon.

Helen has even caddied for her husband. She is a fitness consultant and occasionally a personal trainer of Lee. The duo has been each other’s support pillar, embracing their love life along with raising Edie (Helen’s daughter from a previous marriage).

The golfer, with his extensively praised career, has also managed to earn special praise from his kids, who became his biggest supporters. Even though he does not stay with Samuel and Poppy, they have stood with Edie to support their father.
