Following the Masters Tournament that ended just days ago, LIV Golf has been gaining a lot of traction. Thanks to the brilliant performances of many of its stars, the Saudi-backed league was back on the map. And it couldn’t let this chance slip from its hands! Capitalizing on the time, they began promoting their players and events even more. They also began creating hype for its Adeline event that begins this week. Unfortunately for the new series, instead of excitement, their hype post was met with trolling from the fans!
Henrik Stenson’s stunning shot
In an attempt to draw fans towards them and their events, LIV Golf recently posted a video of Henrik Stenson playing a majestic shot straight into the hole. The golfer’s ball was in the rough just off the green. Confidently staring down the hole, the Swedish star chipped the ball. Heading straight towards the hole, the golf ball took two bounces and sank straight in!

Stenson himself was proud of his remarkable shot. Smugly, after holing it, he threw his club over to his caddie in celebration. “Not sure what’s better: the shot or the club flip,” wrote LIV Golf on Instagram, posting the video in hopes more fans would be attracted by the remarkable skill. And they were, but not in the way the Saudi-backed League hoped!

Fans flooded the comments section of the post trolling LIV, just like many other times in the past. This time, it was for calling Stenson’s “toss” a flip. And although they agreed his shot was remarkable by saying, “Smooth operator,” they felt like they had to point out that what Stenson did, in the end, wasn’t a flip! “More of a toss than a flip; I’d say the shot was 100 times better,” wrote a fan.

Golf world boos LIV Golf for its terrible caption
The fans could not comprehend how the breakaway tour had called that toss a flip and immediately began hating them for it. From “Not much of a flip there” to sarcastic calls of “wow sick “flip”,” they called out the tour, saying, “Y’all are desperate.”

The viral Instagram post was filled with trolls within just hours of being uploaded. “I’d call that a toss,” wrote one fan. And another also commented, “Checks dictionary for definition of flip:: Does not check out.” “Man these captions kill me,” said another fan.
