Tiger Woods’ rough split with Elin Nordegren is known to all his fans. The golf legend was in numerous controversies after he got divorced from his ex-wife. However, despite the many times Woods and Nordegren talked about their split, fans might now be aware of what happened during the decision of their children’s custody. In fact, according to sources, Nordegren was the most concerned about Woods’ actions when around their kids.

What was Elin Nordegren’s biggest concern about handing their children’s custody after divorce?

Swedish model Elin Nordegren got engaged to the golf legend back in November 2003. The two decided to say their vows more than a year later in October 2004. But their marriage came to a drastic ending on August 23, 2010, when several controversies about the golfer hit the headlines.

The two had to eventually split up and get divorced despite having a 6-7 year-long marriage. Woods and Nordegren had two children together – Sam and Charlie. And after getting to know about Woods’ alleged controversies, Nordegren didn’t want the kids to be around the golfer much.

As per sources, Nordegren tried everything in her hands to receive 100% custody of the kids after their divorce. A source close to the golf star’s ex-wife told People Magazine how Nordegren had a huge concern about leaving her kids around Woods. “Elin does not want Tiger to have female friends around when he has the children,” the source said. “This is very important to her, and she will not give in to anything less.”

Despite her expectations to receive 100% custody of Sam and Charlie, Woods would get to see the kids. However, the golfer denied it and said he wanted to be with the kids for at least one weekend a month. As their discussions went ahead, Woods’ profession started to pose as a barrier to spending time with his children.

The source also explained how the ex-couple was trying to come to a conclusion giving both of them what they wanted. “When Tiger is at tournaments and misses a weekend, he could make up for it by taking them for two or three weeks at a time which will allow Elin freedom to travel and see her friends in the U.S.,” the source revealed.

Years after their divorce today, Woods and Nordegren share a friendly relationship. Despite their highly-known separation, the two often accompany their kids to games and other places. And to everyone’s surprise, Nordegren also feels that Woods is a great father to both their children. Woods loves spending time with his son Charlie on the field. The two spend hours training for golf tournaments and Charlie absolutely loves it!
