Every sport has individuals who go above and beyond, and inspire millions. And while golf has numerous such individuals this week, one stands out: Rob Strano. The former golf pro has been growing the sport in the most unique way possible: by teaching deaf teenagers for over two decades now. And his heartwarming accomplishment this week at the home of the Players Championship has left everyone in awe.

Webb was ecstatic and thrilled to have experienced playing golf for the first time. “You know you have to hit it just right to get it to go in the right direction, and that’s a new experience I’m getting used to now,” he stated as per a recent First Coast News report, certainly delighted with what he had just pulled off. “For the first time today, I had that inspiration to potentially become a golfer.”

And rightly so, considering how strenuous a task it is and how it requires ample focus and patience. But eventually, Strano’s resolve prevailed, and he inspired all the kids like Webb, showing them that golf didn’t discriminate.

The kids have turned around Strano’s life too
The former pro golfer claims that he’s not the only one doing the inspiring in his clinics. Over the past decades, he’s also learned a lot from the children too. “These kids have taught me a ton about the ability to learn and the focus it takes to learn the game,” he said, beaming with pride. “That’s been the main thing they come out they have fun, and they remind me golf is about fun.”

In his professional career, Strano also played events on three different US tours: the PGA Tour, the Nationwide Tour (now the Korn Ferry Tour), and the NGA Pro Golf Tour (now called the Swing Thought Tour). And despite grabbing five wins, he will undoubtedly claim that his golf clinic accomplishments are far more rewarding!
