For generations, golf has been a sport played with clubs and irons to outscore your opponents. However, as some traditions of the sport have been altered in recent years, another fundraiser in Nebraska has shown the world a new way of playing golf. It isn’t with legs or with a baseball bat, but instead with an AR-15 rifle.
The 18-hole sport has seen the modernization of many of its equipment. However, the citizens of Lincoln, Nebraska, have surpassed all inventions in the way of playing golf. Let’s take a look at how they utilized a rifle to compete in the royal sport.

Nebraska residents to play golf with AR-15 rifle
In a regular fundraiser, the invitees are provided with pancakes and chili cookoffs to raise as much money for welfare as possible. However, the Pierce Fire Department in Lincoln, Nebraska, has a unique style for organizing fundraisers.

The participation cost for each team will be $450. All the proceeds will go toward purchasing firefighting equipment, claim the officials. While the entry fee for some may be high, all the rifles, blanks, and balls will be provided by the event organizers. Since the golf tournament, is not so regular golf competition, participants will have to meet all federal requirements.
Participants will shoot the ball which will be inside the tube of the AR-15 rifle. They need to send the ball toward the hole, just like the normal golf. However, since it requires guns, federal approval is a must. The winner of the event will receive the Henry Firefighter Tribute Rifle.
While many traditional golf fans may oppose bringing an AR-15 rifle into the 18-hole sport, at the end of the day, it’s all about raising funds for the Pierce Fire Department. Shooting a golf ball out of a rifle may sound weird to some, but it sure will be an entertaining sight to witness. Perhaps, we may soon see similar competitions outside of Nebraska very soon.
