The PGA Tour manages the Champions Tour, a professional golf circuit. However, it was created especially for players beyond the age of 50. Formerly knows as The Senior PGA Tour, The Champions Tour has been the official name since 2002. Since the Tour’s inception in 1980, former PGA Tour competitors have used it as a platform to compete at a high level.
While the Tour is meant for aged players, as part of its overall health and safety program, the Champions Tour does require medical testing for its players. Furthermore, the purpose of the medical examinations is to rule out any existing health conditions that would impair a player’s ability to compete. These examinations make sure that all participants are in sound physical condition. Recently, PGA Tour Champions star, Padraig Harrington made headlines after revealing his medical results.
