The season 2022 was a successful year for LIV golf and Greg Norman. Despite their rivalry with the PGA, antitrust law, and broadcast hunt, they were able to pull off nicely the last year. However, this year brought good news for all LIV fans. The long search for a broadcaster by Greg Norman finally ended with the confirmation of CW becoming the broadcast partner of the Saudi-backed circuit events. Last year, the fans could watch the LIV event only on YouTube and DAZN.

There were speculations of FOX sports joining LIV last year; however, CW was the final choice. According to The Palm Beach Post reports on Tuesday, LIV Golf analyst David Feherty revealed the news at one of his comedy events in Florida last week. It is one of its first sports deal contracts for CW. According to Front Office Sports, more news is yet to come. The multi-year contract with the fifth-largest broadcast network in the country will likely be revealed soon.

Are fans ready to support Greg Norman and LIV golf on CW?

Caddie Network revealed the news on Twitter and asked if people will be watching the 2023 season of LIV. The reactions by fans were mixed. However, the shocking part was that many golf fans could not recognize the CW network. Apart from that, most Twitter users seemed unimpressed by this new achievement of the circuit. They bombarded the comments section with their views.

Even though CW has the broadcast rights, the Saudi-backed circuit will stream LIV events on DAZN and YouTube as they did in their first season. Beyond the broadcast agreement with CW, Saudi-backed LIV Golf is still negotiating a separate streaming agreement. However, according to a September FOS report, Fox Sports and representatives of LIV Golf had negotiations about a potential broadcast agreement. Over the past few months, David Hill, the renowned sports producer responsible for Fox’s success in sports. He was in consultation with LIV Golf, but CW won the chance.

Even though it is good news for the rival of the American tour, the PGA fans are far from impressed. Some did not know about CW, and some revealed that CW needs a better reach among the audience. Therefore, it was not an achievement for LIV golf to bag this broadcast deal. The unimpressed golf community also needs to invest more in the 2023 season of Norman’s tour. However, only time will tell if the circuit events will get enough audience.
