Greg Norman is probably one of the most famous golfers of all time. His spontaneity and risk-taking attitude is not a fact hidden from any of us. A golf writer once talked about how Norman took him on the most dangerous ride of his life.

Greg Norman is currently the CEO of LIV Golf. Even after multiple news hinting at his plausible shift from the role, authorities of the Saudi-backed league have made it clear that ‘The Shark’ is there to stay.

The “Great White Shark” is unknown for taking risks and being adventurous. His decision to be one of the prominent faces behind the Saudi-backed LIV Golf league is a recent example of his “C’est la Vie” attitude.

Greg Norman Gets Philosophical About Doing ‘A Dirty Job’

Norman once took the famous golf journalist from Sports Illustrated, Rick Reilly on a drive. A drive that made Reilly scared for his life.

According to him, Norman was friends with a race car driver. When he asked ‘The Shark’ whether his friend had taught him something. Norman made his experience of life go through his eyes.

In Reilly’s words, “We’re on a two-lane road, we do a complete 180, I’m seeing telephone poles and trees and my life going by. . . . He was crazy, that guy. His life was amazing.”

Well, Norman’s life sure was amazing. He held the world number one ranking for a frame of 331 weeks. His skill at the sport was unmatched for the longest period of time. Norman and his risk-taking side of personality surely won a lot of hearts and a lot of championships.

Rory McIlroy on why Greg needs to go

According to Rory McIlroy, one of the PGA Tour’s major loyalists, a prerequisite to peace talks between the rival leagues is Norman’s exit from the scene for good.

Only then McIlroy thinks it’s possible for both parties to find a common ground. That is to say, only with Norman gone, should peace talks be initiated.

Rory said, “I think Greg needs to go. He’s made his mark, I think now is the right time.”

Even though, LIV Golf authorities have recently denied news of Norman being replaced, McIlroy’s strong contentions sure hold some ground.
