Paige Spiranac is retired from professional golf. But that being said, it doesn’t mean that she’s left the sport behind. She is currently one of the most influential figures in the sport and also follows it religiously. Besides watching almost all the Tour events, the golf beauty also opens up about her favorites playing in them. For this week’s PGA Tour event, she has once again done the same. And the fans couldn’t help but notice 30-year-old Patrick Cantlay’s name being dropped in!

Paige Spiranac makes an unconventional choice

Just like she does for almost every PGA Tour event, this week too, Spiranac has taken her picks for the event. Ahead of the Arnold Palmer Invitational that begins on Thursday this week, the gorgeous golfer took to her Instagram story to name her winning picks for the week. She had six names in total on her list: two for the win; two she predicted would place in the top 10, and the last two for a top-20 finish.

Her winning picks this time were a tad surprising. She noted that either Patrick Cantlay, the world No. 4, or Jason Day would be the outright winner at the event. The Instagram icon further added that Will Zalatoris and Tom Hoge would be two of the Tour pros who would finish towards the top of the leaderboard in the top 10.

How credible are Spiranac’s picks?

The ex-pro golfer has grown up watching and playing the sport. Additionally, she was a professional golfer too, which means she knows the mindset of players out on the course. So, while regular picks are made based on ranking and form, she looks at so much more.

The Instagram model almost certainly takes the player’s past performances, where they come from, their consistency, and so many other factors into account. More often than not, her gamble pays off. Just two weeks ago, she made predictions about the Genesis Invitational, and she got 4 of the 3 out of 7 right. She even correctly predicted who would battle for the top spot.
