Paige Spiranac comes clean about her online anti-bullying content

In the recent episode of her podcast, Playing a Round, she indulged in a question-answer session. The internet queen answered the most asked questions from her fans. One of the fans asked a question about her content. She read it and said, “Next question isI missed the mental health and anti-bullying material used to post?” Spiranac found this question interesting and explained what changed her approach toward her mental health content.

Spiranac said, “I used to open up about mental health and just the online abuse that I was facing. When I first started my career on social media, which was a while ago now.” She further explained the challenges of an initial online career. It was challenging for her to live an everyday life back then. Overnight, she used to get hundreds and thousands of negative comments about her.

But every time she shared her feelings, people misunderstood her. She said, “I came off as if I was having this victim mentality. And even to this day, people say that I used to play the victim or I play the victim.” People called her out for playing the victim and collecting sympathy. And that is why she chose to focus on her golf content instead. But still, despite not posting anti-bullying content today, she always takes a stand for the right cause.

Was it the first time Spiranac suffered bullying?

Online trolling was not the first time she suffered trauma. Spiranac suffered during her childhood too. Earlier, she wasn’t equipped to handle all the trolling and negativity. The 2018 SI swimsuit model was in her early 20s when she used to receive enormous amount of negative comments. “And it took a toll on me mentally,” said Spiranac. However, she believes she was trying to deal with all the hate she was getting. The second most influential female golf personality said, “I don’t think any human beings should be able to handle that, and they’re not equipped to be able to handle it.”
