When asked if it was a crucial decision of his life, Cam Smith replied, “It was definitely a big decision [of joining LIV], but I feel as though I definitely made the right decision”. He further added how the breakaway Tour has only been progressing on the right side with the last few events. “It’s going in the right direction. The fans love it”, the defector added.

Smith claimed that the build-up to LIV Golf events feels more like a “sporting event than a golf tournament”, which he loves it. However, a sudden move to a new style of golf Tour also has its challenges. The golfer was then asked about the newfound Tour’s Shotgun starts. “One of the biggest things I was scared”, Cam Smith stated.

The Shotgun starts in golf refers to when all the players from each group tee off at the same time from different holes. Nonetheless, being the world number four golfer, it wasn’t hard for the Aussie to settle in. He eventually adopted the unique routine and began to like it.

Cameron Smith said, “It worked so good. We were off at the same time every day, everyone’s playing in the same conditions [and] sure it’s a bit of a s*** show before the round getting guys out to their tees and stuff but it’s only 10 minutes”. After missing the cut in recent Saudi International, Smith looks to get back to winning ways.
