Among the most well-known and noteworthy female golfers in the world is, without a doubt, Danielle Kang. She has recently attracted a lot of media and fan attention. However, the LPGA pro’s health issues are primarily the reason behind it. The 30-year-old has been the center of attention since she withdrew from the Drive-On Championship at the end of the previous month owing to her serious health issues.

The American professional golfer’s issues with her health and fitness have been in the news for the past year. The native of San Francisco is once again in the spotlight, though, for different reasons.

In NLU Podcast Episode 672, Kang discussed some gruesome incidents that happened during one of her travels. The six-time LPGA Tour champion was overheard discussing her vacation to Kenya and her safari experience there.

The 30-year-old spoke of her near-death experiences and claimed, “And we went to go see the rhinos. The two white rhinos and they were on foot, and one decided to charge. So, we ran for our allies and I’m pretty sure a lot of things went through my mind. We were fine. Everyone was safe. But I was thinking how do I escape a rhino attack? Do I play dead? Do I dodge horn like what do I do?”

Kang then added, “My mom was with me, she ran into a bush. I was sprinting and I stopped sprinting because I thought the rhino was going to turn and run into her. It’s something that I will never forget, and it was pretty cool.”

Kang also shared the positive aspects of her journey to Africa. Her team witnessed a herd of elephants near a watering hole, an abundance of giraffes, and a lion hunting and devouring a zebra. The LPGA standout later discussed her goals for success while putting her health difficulties behind her. But it was this safari trip that really put her in a spot.

Danielle Kang to rise again

Kang turned professional in 2011 and has since been making a name for herself in the sport ever since. In 2021, the LPGA Tour pro experienced a breakthrough season. Most of her setbacks can be traced to her that injuries she experienced in the past year. However, Kang still is one of the big guns in the ladies’ golf world. In 2023, the six-times LPGA Tour winner has performed well but not consistently. This season also, Kang experienced health issues which led to her backing out of the Drive-On Championship. However, with The Chevron Championship going on, Kang will surely try to turn things around.
