And notably, one of these Tour stars is English golfer, Mel Reid.

It has been more than a year since Reid married her longtime girlfriend, Carly Grenfell, who is now Carly Reid. Not to forget that the two also recently announced that they are expecting their first child together. Other than being an extremely loving partner to Reid, Carly is also a huge supporter of golf. In a recent tweet, the golfer’s wife shared her honest feelings about how women’s golf has been looked upon from an unfair perspective for the longest time.

Carly Reid highlighted several comments that people have made about the LPGA Tour and how it doesn’t receive equal respect and attention compared to men’s golf. “I’m SO TIRED of these takes,” she wrote, followed by her opinions backed by facts related to men’s and women’s golf. “To make the claims that men’s sports will ALWAYS get the dollars and eyeballs is flat out just not true. PEOPLE DO CARE,” she added.

After explaining how women’s sports have been receiving ample attention from fans, Carly highlighted the main alleged culprit behind the spoiled perspective among fans—the media. According to the former LPGA winner’s wife, several fans consider the men’s game better than women’s golf because of how the ‘media’ represents it.

“The only reason so many people think that men’s sports are the pinnacle is because THAT IS WHAT THE MEDIA IS TELLING THEM…It’s an absurd narrative,” she wrote. “TIME and COVERAGE are why men’s sports are light years ahead of women’s sports.”
