While Nelly Korda may have missed out on her second Major, the 24-year-old enthralled many with her performance during the Chevron Championship. Korda finished third behind Lilia Vu and Angel Yin, taking home $347,974 in winnings.
Professional golfers have very hectic schedules, which is why players like Korda deserve day-offs from time to time. However, when she is not playing, the LPGA sensation loves to occupy herself with this unexpected activity.

Nelly Korda’s day off plans are a bit out of the ordinary
Korda hails from a family of well-known athletes and shares a fantastic bond with her older sister and fellow LPGA star, Jessica Korda. In the past, the sisters have offered a glimpse into their day-to-day lives. However, it was Nelly Korda’s guilty pleasure that incited a hysterical reaction from her sister.

Speaking to Golf Digest for their “Off Court with…” series, the 2021 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship shared that she loved people-watching on her day off. “I have a pair of binoculars, and I people watch!” said the world no. 1. “It’s super weird but that’s what I do.”
Her unique habit amused the older Korda sister, who hilariously quipped, “You’re one of THOSE people.” Both the Korda sisters competed at the recently-ended Chevron Championship. While Nelly Korda finished at third, Jessica Korda finished T28. The latter walked away with $38,933 in winnings.
Nelly Korda returns to world no. 1
Nelly Korda may not have won the major, but she walked away with another massive achievement in the bag. With her solo third finish, the Olympic gold medal winner returned to world no. 1 for the first time since November. She toppled New Zealand’s Lydia Ko, who missed the cut at the year’s first LPGA major.

This is Korda’s fourth time at the top of the world rankings. She also shed some light on her achievement while speaking to the press after the 2023 Chevron Championship ended. “It would have been obviously very nice to win the major, as well, but I think being World No. 1 is very rewarding,” she expressed. “The rankings at the end of the day tell you the consistent play you’re playing.”
Korda will return to action in the upcoming JM Eagle LA Championship, which will take place in the Willshire Country Club in Los Angeles.
