One of the final events in golf this year is the PNC Championship. The tournament is one of the most entertaining and enjoyable in golf. It aims to celebrate family. Hence, 20 golf professionals team up with a family member to compete for the title. Fans excitedly flock to the event as it’s one that both lightens the mood and puts you in the family holiday spirit. Jordan Spieth recently pointed out an aspect of the event that had everyone laughing and applauding in their seats.

Spieth is competing, having paired up with his father, Shawn Spieth. He has certainly entered the event high-spirited after pairing up with Justin Thomas and beating Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy in ‘The Match’ last week.

In a recent viral video, the announcer revealed one of the “great quotes” that Spieth had stated at the Championship, which left the crowd hysterical. He stated that Spieth had said, “Only at the PNC Championship where you’ll see an 11-year-old competitor in the same locker room as an 87-year-old competitor.

The crowd burst into laughter and cheers, and Spieth smiled and nodded along. The host continued and said that that was what separated the PNC Championship from other events. “That’s unique.” He stated.

Who did Jordan Spieth refer to as the 87-year-old and the 11-year-old at the event?

The hilarious Spieth couldn’t pass up the opportunity to crack up the crowd. As the host said, “That’s what makes the event so special.” Spieth nodded along, and then talking about his locker room comment, he joked, “Fortunately, they were all just changing shoes.” The crowd erupted into yet another round of laughter.

In his comment, Spieth was referring to Annika Sorenstam’s teammate at the event, her 11-year-old son, Will Sorenstam. The oldest, i.e., the 87-year-old that Spieth had mentioned, was none other than the South African legend Gary Player. He is playing alongside his grandson, Jordan Player.
