The new golf season is upon us, and so is Paige Spiranac. The golf beauty recorded her first podcast of the year, in which she talked about a number of topics. One of those agendas was her take on the teaching professionals at the PGA of America. Spiranac had earlier claimed that local golf instructors weren’t helpful, which kicked off a storm among fans on the internet. But she has scrutinized her words further in the latest episode of her podcast.

The social media star divulged the topic in the latter section of her podcast. The incident occurred in the early days of the ‘OnlyPaige’ website, in which she uploads premium content for her fans. In one of her golf instruction videos, Spiranac received criticism from a subscriber, who claimed that getting lessons from local coaches was better than receiving instructions online.

Spiranac is not new to trolls on the internet. In her response, the 29-year-old claimed that “local pros aren’t very good.” The words angered a section of fans, who weren’t happy with Spiranac’s attitude toward experienced golf coaches.

In her podcast, the ex-golfer supported her earlier statement. She believed that poor instruction hurt beginners in their dream of making it big in golf. She claimed that most of the local instructors are not good enough, but the other standout ones charged too much money.

“A good golf instructor is charging at least $150 an hour. And you’re going to have to go to them at least again, once a week if you really want to see changes,” she said.

Paige Spiranac reflects on criticism

The social media star took a plausible viewpoint of the situation. “I see a hate comment about myself, I’ll look and you know, normally, it’s like a Bible verse know, for me, it’s PGA Certified Professional Teaching Professional,” she said.

Spiranac also was assertive in the respect she was seeking from the golf community. “So respect goes both ways. If you want to respect me and what I’m doing, then I’ll respect you and what you’re doing,” she said.

“And again, that’s what’s just lacking in the golf community, everyone thinks that they are at the top of the top and then looks down on everyone else who doesn’t think different. And that’s just not okay.”
