Nicklaus hosts an annual Creighton Farms Invitational tournament to raise money for children’s health charities. The event is played in Virginia, and so Nicklaus decided to build a home for himself in the area. However, the 5,500-square-foot custom-built house is now on sale after the golfer and his wife listed it a couple of years back for $2.698 million.

The listing agent with Creighton Realty explained why the couple made the huge decision. “The Nicklauses come back annually to participate in the Creighton Farms Invitational,” he said. “But as much as they love the home, they have never been able to stay in it as often as they might like. So the decision was made to put it on the market and let someone else enjoy it.”

The golfer currently resides in a 15,332-square-foot property located on 1.6 waterfront acres in North Palm Beach, Florida. And as of 2009, the price of the place was estimated to be $8.7 million.
