The 2023 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship is in full swing. As the second day of the championship has concluded, the Irish star Leona Maguire is leading the scoreboard. Just a stroke behind her are Melissa Reid, Celine Borge, and Xi Yu Lin, all tied for the second berth. Though, on the disheartening side of the game, Nelly Korda did not make the cut. This wasn’t good news for the star, especially given how she had returned to the field after a long time.

But, to top all this on-field action, the fans also haven’t left any stone unturned. The enthusiasm and passion they have brought to the women’s golf for the past two days have been phenomenal. This just proves how connected they are to the game and cherish every moment of it. In fact, a video of an eager fan — from Friday’s round — that got viral evidently displays the hold golf has on one.

The golf fan attracts attention with her ‘innovative’ swing

The second day of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship was rain-hit. Springfield welcomed light showers which meant that the umbrellas and raincoats were out the next moment. Amidst all these scenes, one fan, in particular, was caught enjoying herself.

It was as if she was visualizing the umbrella as the golf club and hitting an imaginary golf ball. The viewer appeared to be so in tune with her thoughts while she swung the item, holding it from the top; sort of imitating a professional golfer. Well, maybe she was!

Because the moment the video got viral, fellow golf enthusiasts chimed in to praise the non-professional for her great golfing action. One of them said, “Love the swing“, and another user got in with “Innovative“.

What added to the occasion was that the official account of the LPGA Tour uploaded the video and wrote, “Golf. It’s contagious.”

That was it, nothing could have been more relatable than these three words. Those associated with the game in one way or another know the grip the sport has on their actions and behaviors.

And if this was not enough, other glimpses from the golf course post the drizzle also reflect the same.

They couldn’t help but let loose, showing a part of their golfing personality. Other fans flocked to the comment section and shared their experiences with reference to the girl’s subliminal actions.
